Two local Los Angeles businessman are proposing to build a 2,900 foot long Hollywood Hills Zip Line in trendy Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills. If this zip line is constructed, it would be one of the few in an urban area of the United States. Zip lining is very popular in other parts of the world, specifically in Costa Rica.
What better place than Runyon Canyon, a very popular spot in the city for hiking and exercising.
The presentation will take place tonight at 6 p.m. at the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council. The Zip Line would start at Runyon Canyon Road and drop 500 feet into the canyon. The two businessman making the proposal Pruitt and Wood said they would donate an additional $700,000 to renovate Runyon Canyon by adding bathrooms, fixing the trails, and making additional improvements where needed.
The pair will also propose running a shuttle from Hollywood & Highland to reduce the number of people parking in the residential areas surrounding Runyon Canyon. Local residents of Runyon Canyon are concerned about the growing number of people and traffic that would surround the area. The zip line would offer and amazing view of Los Angeles on a clear day.
